- Auxois -

The Auxois comes from the original ancient Ardennais heavy horse and an old Burgundian horse breed. It is larger and more powerful than its larger ancestors, and has slightly finer legs. It is quiet and even-tempered, a willing worker with great strength and endurance. Auxois are always a characteristic red roan color. They stand between 15.1 hh and 16hh. The Auxios breed originated in France. They are mainly bred at the Cluny stud in France, an area that is hilly and fertile.
