- Country Breed -

The Country Breed horse was developed in Cyprus and its local name is the Kipriakis Ektrofis (hard to pronounce, huh). Their herdbook was established in 1970 by the Cyprus Turf Club. These horses are bay, chestnut, or gray, and are used for racing, pulling things, dressage, and jumping. There are a calculated 1,276 of these horses remaining in the world, so there are no conservation activities being performed.
