- North Hestur -

The North Hestur has a few other names, such as the North Swedish Trotter. Its heavier strain is called the North Swedish Horse. It is a coldblooded animal with, as mentioned before, both a lighter and a heavier strain. Although the North Hestur was bred for heavy draft and farm work, the lighter strain has a trotting speed of 5/8 of a mile in 1 min 30 secs - faster than some true trotting breeds. Both strains are hardy and strong, and have a long life span, and exhibits a docile and willing temperament. This breed is well known for its expressive eyes. This breed comes in most solid colors and usually stands between 15 hh and 15.2 hh.
