- Northeastern -

The Northeastern horse breed was developed in Northeastern Brazil, starting in the 16th century, from Portuguese stock. Very little is known about these horses, but their coloring is very unique and therefore makes them stand out. The coloration is as follows: 40% dark bay, 25% gray, 15%  light bay, and 15% sorrel.
