9/22/2005 - Friday

  • Went on a really long trail ride

  • Learned to lean forward going uphill and back going downhill

  • Practiced turning in tight spaces, backing on the trails, stopping, starting, and jumping small logs

  • Needs to work on keeping heels down! They come up far too often!!

  • Overall, good performance

  • Worked on posting...getting the hang of it, slowly but surely

  • Doing good, girl!! Keep it up, and bring those grades back up!! :)

9/15/2005 - Friday

  • Worked in an English saddle for the first time

  • Had trouble keeping heels down while trotting

  • Weaved in and out of cones, made up different patterns

  • Learned to do a serpentine

  • Leaned where to keep hands when riding and why, and also to pull back, not up, for commands

  • Went up and down arena throwing balls into the buckets - didn't miss a single time! Yay!!

  • Rode with another horse and learned ring etiquette

  • Cantered for the first time - did really, really well! Keep up the good work, Veronica!!

9/9/2005 - Friday

  • Worked in arena for first time

  • Worked on walk/stop combos, and walk/trot/stop combos

  • Collected cones from fence and stuck them in trees

  • Collected cones from fence and dropped them onto other cones

  • Ran up from one end to the other and dropped cone onto another cone

  • Learned how to get Prissy close to the fence and get the cone, also how to hang onto the cones and steer the horse at the same time!

  • Leaned how to count eh number of steps backed, and back a certain number of steps as well

  • Did really well all over...good job, Veronica!!
