- Chinese Pony -

The Chinese Pony is another breed based on the Mongolian pony and the Asian Wild Horse. It is typically a primitive yellow dun with a black eel stripe, dark points, and zebra stripes on the legs, although sometimes other solid colors do occur. This pony is hardy, surefooted and strong, with a deep body and upright shoulders. Its hindquarters are short and sloping and its legs are sturdy and fine; it has a difficult temperament and is mainly used for light farm work, transportation, pack work, and occasionally riding. They tend to stand between 12 and 13 hh.
